The flag carrier of New Zealand, Air New Zealand was founded in 1940 as TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways Limited). Later, it commenced its operations as Air New Zealand in the year 1965. It is headquartered at Wynyard Quarter in Auckland. A  member of Star Alliance, the airline has its primary hub at Auckland Airport and secondary hubs at Christchurch International Airport and Wellington International Airport.

With a fleet size of 64 aircraft, Air New Zealand embraces Airbus and Boeing airplanes in its family. Seating: There are various kind of cabins available on different routes: 

1. Domestic: The domestic services are available in a single class all-economy arrangement with four domestic fare options, Seat, Seat + Bag, FlexiTime, and FlexiDate.

2. Tasman and Pacific: Air New Zealand operates short-haul international routes to Australia (Tasman) and the Pacific Islands (Pacific) with an all-economy cabin. It also has four options of service, Seat, Seat + Bag, Works, and Works Deluxe.

Baggage Policy

1. Carry-on Baggage

Air New Zealand Flight allows carry-on baggage depending upon your class of travel which are as follows:

Economy: One carry-on bag with one small item (handbag or laptop sleeve) are allowed with maximum weight up to 7 kg and with dimensions 118 cm.

Premium and Business Premier: Two bags with one small item are allowed with maximum weight up to 14 kg and with dimensions 118 cm.


2. Checked-in Baggage

The airline offer different baggage allowances depending on route, weight, piece, and class of travel. Further, excess baggage charges may apply if you surpass the weight and/or a number of pieces allowed.
